THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to participate in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line.
 
This Senior RF Design Engineer reports to the Principal RF Engineer on the RF Engineering team.  The successful individual in this role will ensure circuit board design and overall radio product can pass relevant emission and immunity regulations and improve the design for manufacturability. This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday and the location for this role can either be in our San Diego office OR at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in vibrant West Los Angeles, CA.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Antenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or highly integrated RFICs
    • Discrete design includes PLL, LNA, Mixers, PA etc.
    • Implementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout
    • RF performance characterization, tuning and troubleshooting
    • Overall system design to ensure good EMI performance
    • Troubleshoot RF related production yield problems
    • TRAVEL - Rare local travel, as required by Silvus

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s of Science (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years of multi GHz RF hardware development experience
    • Demonstrated experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, stability issues
    • Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, packaging
    • Strong familiarity with using RF simulation tools such as AWR Microwave Office

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • MS in Electrical Engineering
    • Excellent bench skills
    • Proactive approach to problem solving
    • Detail oriented and have a firm commitment to quality
$140,000 - $180,000 a year
The pay range is NOT a guarantee, is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
NOTE - Must be a U.S. Person (permanent resident or citizen) due to U.S. government contracts.  Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check. This does NOT apply to International positions; only job postings for positions located in the US.
