The Opportunity
Silvus is seeking Wireless Communication Systems Engineers to participate in all phases of wireless technology projects that includes planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation. This position is on a hybrid schedule, a minimum of 3 days on-site per week is required. On-site days are the following: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Duties and Responsibilities
o    Algorithmic development, simulation, implementation, and testing.
o    System performance simulation, bench marking, and testing.
o    Fixed point modeling and FPGA design and verification support.
o    Support FPGA and Software development teams for hardware/software implementation and troubleshooting.
o    Setting and tracking development schedules and tasks.
o    Design and participate in lab and field testing and troubleshooting.
o    Technical material preparation and documentation.
o    As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
Required Qualifications and Experience
o    M.S. or Ph.D. in the field of wireless communications and signal processing.
o    A minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems.
o    Knowledge and experience with RF propagation and channel modeling.
o    Knowledge and experience with digital communication systems such as RF subsystems, synchronizations, channel estimation, channel coding, etc.
o    Knowledge about signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM.
o    Experiences with fixed point modeling, implementation, and verification.
o    Expert in MATLAB programming and simulation.
o    Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
o    Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
o    Experience in modeling and mitigating RF impairments to signals such as AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset, etc.
o    Wireless mobile ad-hoc networking, medium access, and routing algorithms.
o    Cognitive radio congested and contested spectrum and interference mitigation.
o    RF sensing, signal detection, and classification, etc.
o    Technical writing and presentation.
Travel Requirements
Infrequent travel to support customer interactions or test and demonstration events.

$110,000 - $140,000 a year
COMPENSATION:  110k-140k/annual
