The Opportunity

Silvus is seeking a RF Design Engineer to actively participate in all aspects of the design process to develop the RF subsystem for Silvus’ StreamCaster MANET product line. The position is full-time, on-site daily Monday through Friday.




Responsibilities

    • The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time in its discretion.
    • Antenna to baseband RF subsystem design using discrete circuitry or highly integrated RFICs.
    • Discrete design includes PLL, LNA, Mixers, PA etc.
    • Implementing or supervising schematic capture and PCB layout.
    • RF performance characterization, tuning and troubleshooting.
    • Overall system design to ensure good EMI performance.
    • Ensure circuit board design and overall radio product can pass relevant emission
    • and immunity regulations.
    • Troubleshoot RF related production yield problems.
    • Improve design for manufacturability.
    • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative

Qualifications

    • Minimum Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Minimum Experience:
    • 5+ years of relevant multi GHz RF hardware development experience
    • Hands on experience with solving EMI, harmonics, spurious, stability issues
    • Experience with using RF simulation tools such as Microwave Office
    • Skills Required:
    • Excellent bench skills
    • Good working knowledge of RF board layout, fabrication, packaging
    • Self motivated
    • Detail oriented and have a firm commitment to quality
    • Must be a U.S. person
    • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident due to clients under U.S. government contracts
    • Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
$120,000 - $200,000 a year

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
Lift equipment for setup of demos and testing
