THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a full-time Facility Security Officer (FSO) to manage the security programs, procedures, and controls, and to assist employees with obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearances. The FSO will also oversee general facilities maintenance at Silvus’ Los Angeles headquarters, coordinating with vendors to schedule, monitor, and ensure completion of necessary repairs and upgrades; negotiating concerns with building management/landlord; and ensuring the safety and security of Silvus’ facilities.
 
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) reports to the General Counsel with a dotted line reporting to the Chief Operations Officer. The position is full-time, on-site daily, Monday through Friday. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.
 
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Maintain the company’s facility security clearance and assist employees with obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearances.
    • Maintain all security documentation and files in accordance with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) requirements.
    • Provide and document new employee security briefings and exit debriefing.
    • Investigate and report security violations and incidents.
    • Maintain classified holdings and prepare classified transmittals in accordance with NISPOM guidelines and requirements.
    • Conduct periodic self-inspections bi-annually or as required by DCSA or other reviews as directed by the government.
    • Responsible for daily operations of a cleared facility and clearing any (internal) visitor requests.
    • Submit visit requests for US and foreign travel and manage internal security tracking documents.
    • Ensure annual security training requirements are met and kept up to date.
    • Participate in the development and execution of security education programs.
    • Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.
    • Manage the ITPSO responsibilities to schedule relevant insider threat meetings and gather information across the facility (e.g., human resources, security, information assurance, legal) to support the identification and assessment of insider threats.
    • Plan and coordinate with vendors to schedule and supervise visits to improve and maintain upkeep of offices (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
    • Liaise with building management regarding all facility’s needs (e.g., parking, janitorial, construction approval) to ensure smooth operations and timely resolution of issues.
    • Proactive identification of facility-related safety, security, and logistical issues, and coordination with other teams to promptly resolve them.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
    • A minimum of 2 years of FSO or AFSO experience.
    • Current US DOD Secret Security Clearance.
    • Ability to complete required FSO training.
    • Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a team.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Comprehensive knowledge of facility clearance requirements and guidelines.
    • Proven ability to pass a DCSA security audit.
    • Experience with process and requirements to transition from Secret to Top Secret clearance.
$95,000 - $115,000 a year
NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
