Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Our MGA and Underwriting team at Simply Business is the stuff that career dreams are made of, there is great breadth to the work that you are doing from the products we sell to the day to day activities. Even if you are an experienced Underwriter we guarantee you’ll be doing new things.
If you’re working towards your ACII exams, we’d love to fund this and support your ongoing development.
Your manager, James (Senior Underwriting Manager) will offer you lots of support, while also giving you the autonomy to do your own work, and will be available when you want to ask questions or gain support.
As one of our Underwriters, you’ll be:
- underwriting referrals from our broker partners
- supporting with the management of the portfolio to ensure we maintain a profitable business
- specialising in commercial SME products including trades and construction, retail, office, professional indemnity, and property owners
- supporting projects like book transfers, wording reviews, Consumer Duty, or developing new distribution opportunities
- monitoring authority delegated to our broker partners by undertaking audits and process improvement reviews
We’re looking for someone who is:
- starting to develop a reputation as a technical expert in their current role
- keen on delivering great service to brokers and customers via case underwriting
- working in portfolio / product underwriting - can use data and present recommendations to stakeholders
- working towards their ACII qualification or degree equivalent
