As a team we’re responsible for
the user experience of a product that’s providing tailored, transparent insurance to over half a million businesses and landlords. 
We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer, with a track record of bringing new products and services to market. You'll join a cross-functional product team working to understand and solve some of the biggest problems facing entrepreneurs and small business owners today, creating new products to help them thrive.

As a Senior Product Designer you will:

    • sit in the product team responsible for launching new products to address some of the biggest problems facing our small business customers
    • collaborate with the product manager, user researcher, and lead engineer on your team to empathise with and build an understanding of the challenges small businesses face
    • lead the design process in the team by facilitating the design conversation so that everyone can contribute ideas and feedback openly 
    • plan and design experiments to test the team’s riskiest assumptions 
    • work with the product design team to improve our design system and design processes

Responsibilities include:

    • creating visual stimulus and prototypes for experimentation and regular user testing
    • playing a leading role in planning and running usability tests and user interviews
    • creating the design language for the products the team build, adhering to the Simply Business design system
    • contributing to and helping to maintain the Simply Business design system

We’re looking for someone who:

    • is excited about the potential to work on new products and is able to give structure to the ambiguity that challenge brings
    • can demonstrate that they obsess equally over the definition of the problem as they do over the precision of the pixels 
    • shows empathy for the user, but is also able to consider technical constraints and the business value of their solutions
    • when working on experiments with user researchers, is able to identify the most appropriate use of qualitative and quantitative studies to inform product decisions
    • can demonstrate they understand the basics of visual and interaction design (layout, type, colour, iconography, gestalt etc.)
    • embraces collaboration and performs their best when they involve their product team in the design process
