As a team we are responsible for: 
Processing supplier invoices in a timely manner. Now, we require an Accounts Payable Assistant to join the Finance Team. We would like someone who has a keen eye for detail, uses their own initiative, is highly organised and has the ability to prioritise their own workload.

As an Accounts Payable Assistant you will:

    • reviewing all purchase invoices for appropriate coding and approval prior to payment 
    • establishing and maintaining effect controls over payments to suppliers, including Bacs, Faster Payments, Government payments, Standing Orders and Direct Debits
    • processing personal expenses – final approval checks, posting into accounting system (Access Dimensions), preparing expenses file for HR Payroll
    • processing credit card expenses – uploading into expense system (Access aCloud), final approval checks, posting into accounting system (Access Dimensions), and allocating payment correctly on HSBC Credit Card Ledger
    • reviewing company purchase order system for outstanding/unapproved items and chasing the business for sign off
    • performing bank reconciliation on a daily basis
    • managing any expense-related queries
    • managing any payment/invoice related issues
    • assisting in month-end closing 
    • maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices

What we are looking for:

    • 2+ years of accounts payable experience 
    • GCSE Maths – grade A-C 
    • experience in an accounts department 
    • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • strong organisation and time management skills
    • must be well organised and a self starter
    • ability to work in a fast-paced team and high volume environment while maintaining attention-to-detail and accuracy
    • ability to interact with budget holders and suppliers in a professional manner 
    • ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing       
    • good attention to detail
    • proficient in Excel 
    • flexible to changing priorities and supporting the Accounts Payable team where required


    • progress knowledge, understanding and experience in finance
    • start working towards and/or progress an accountancy qualification
    • learn key skills from management of financial data and the impact it has on the wider business
    • enhance future prospects to develop career progression within a financial environment
