We need a Head of Insurance Product to join us in London. The insurance product team is focused on meeting the insurance needs of small businesses and landlords. The team achieves this by working with our insurer partners and using their existing products, or designing new ones. The team owns what we sell and is responsible for selecting, designing, developing, implementing and managing the range of insurance products we offer. We work with key teams across the business, including insurer relations, claims, customer insight, marketing & acquisition, operations, underwriting, partnerships & distribution, and digital product. 

As a Head of Insurance Product you will:

    •  own what we sell, proactively engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to set the strategy and direction of insurance product for Simply Business
    • define the insurance product strategy and roadmap with your team, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and the ambitious growth plans of Simply Business
    • define how you measure success when delivering on your market strategy
    • ensure the insurance product proposition for your market is valuable for our customers
    • explore customer problems and appraise opportunities (with stakeholders before committing to them) to drive great customer experiences and growth

Responsibilities include:

    • line management responsibility for a group of senior insurance product managers and product managers
    • decision making, prioritisation and delivery of your market strategy, by working closely with the wider business and product delivery teams
    • accountability for achieving the defined success measures linked to your market strategy

What we are looking for:

    • leadership skills to influence our direction, decisions and execution at both a senior leadership level and across the wider business
    • empathy for our customers
    • excellent coaching, negotiation, persuasion and analytical skills e.g.
    • financial modelling, forecasting and experience of analytics platforms
    • demonstrable ownership and responsiveness, with a bias to action and commitment
    • several years experience in commercial insurance lines or in a complex insurance domain
    • experience in delivering a great insurance or financial services product – where you had a hands-on decision making role in building and running one or more products sold digitally
    • a collaborator, who knows how to compromise in the right way and has experience in leading varied groups to make swift decisions
    • a track record of making trade-off calls on prioritisation – with a history of great decision making using data and evidence
    • strong problem-solving skills and the motivation to take on challenges with minimal direction
    • experience with e-commerce teams using agile software product development
