The user experience of a product that provides tailored, transparent insurance to over half a million businesses and landlords. We’re looking for a curious problem-solver with ambitions to grow their product design experience and skill set. Working alongside our experienced team you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills while helping to design product experiences which measurably improve the lives of our customers, our consultants and our insurer partners.

As a Junior Product Designer you will:

    • sit in the product team responsible for ensuring that the customers of our price comparison and aggregator partners are able to quickly and confidently get the insurance they need
    • collaborate with the product manager, user researcher, data analyst, and engineers on your team to continually optimise and improve our partner products
    • support the senior product designer in the team, helping to explore and define future partnership propositions
    • work with the product design team to improve our design system and design processes

Responsibilities include:

    • creating prototypes for regular user testing
    • participation in usability testing and user interviews
    • creating designs for new features using the Simply Business design system
    • contributing to and helping to maintain the Simply Business design system
    • ensuring that the style guides of our partners are adhered to and applied correctly

We are looking for someone who:

    • can demonstrate that they obsess equally over the definition of the problem as they do the precision of the pixels 
    • has a curiosity with people, the decisions they make and why they make them
    • can demonstrate they understand the basics of visual and interaction design (layout, type, colour, iconography, gestalt, etc)
    • has experience using Sketch, Invision, Axure or other tools of your choice to turn your ideas into prototypes and design assets
    • shows empathy for the user, but is also able to consider technical constraints and the business value of your solutions
    • embraces collaboration
