Sirona Medical is looking to hire a VP of Finance, to be based in San Francisco, California. The role will directly report to the CFO and manage a high-performance team. The leader in this role will manage accounting and financial operations, implement financial planning and analysis, ensure internal and external financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, safeguard company assets, and be proficient in technical accounting.

The deal candidate will have a strong experience set in high-growth SaaS companies from an early stage through profitability. It is critical that this individual has a passion for developing and nurturing business partner relationships across all functional groups in the company. This role is highly visible and will interact frequently with C-Level and VP executives.

Responsibilities

    • Develop cross-functional partnerships with business leaders across the company. Work with leaders of business groups to ensure forecasts and financial targets will be achieved
    • Manage the operations of the finance and accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives
    • Issue timely and complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports including management of the Company’s annual audit 
    • Ensure proper revenue recognition
    • Maintain the system of controls over accounting transactions
    • Manage relationships with outside service providers including auditors, tax accountants, commercial banks and outsourced functions
    • Oversee all aspects of transactional accounting in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, stock and cash
    • Oversee the company’s equity incentive plan
    • Establish and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
    • Maintain risk management programs
    • Lead and develop employees within the accounting department to excel and operate effectively in their roles
    • Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of Company operations 
    • Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
    • Work with senior staff to implement annual budgets and forecasts
    • Oversee and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Create KPI and dashboard frameworks such that all KPIs have definitions, are tracked in real-time, and are integrated into the Company's financial model
    • Develop investor update materials, Board update materials, and quarterback financials for future fundraising processes and conduct diligence for potential acquisition scenarios

Requirements

    • Ideally 10+ years of accounting management experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
    • Experience as VP of Finance or Corporate Controller, IPO experience a plus
    • CPA with Big 4 experience highly preferred
    • SaaS industry experience in a high-growth commercial stage company is essential
    • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
    • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing startup business as it scales at hyper-growth
    • Natural curiosity of the business and demonstrated history of scaling a business, preferably in an emerging life sciences company
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. An ability to present complex information in a simplified fashion to facilitate understanding at all levels of the company
    • A high-energy self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hard working environment and can “roll up his/her sleeves” to get the job done
    • Forward thinking, creative and strategic with a decisive “can do” attitude that will proactively address challenges and create multiple options to meet business goals
    • Superior technical financial skills balanced with sound business judgment. The ability to effectively balance financial and operational factors and to analyze complex business problems and develop appropriate solutions in a timely and efficient manner
