SkyBox Labs is searching for a Senior Lighting Artist to help bring the world of Destiny 2 to life! In this highly iterative role, you'll collaborate with talented teams to masterfully shape immersive and memorable game spaces. You'll own complex lighting challenges, creating and implementing stunning real-time lighting setups from concept to final polish. You’ll work closely with World Artists and Designers to ensure visually striking, performant, and seamlessly integrated lighting.

A snapshot of your role:
- Create and implement the creation of complex real-time lighting for game worlds using proprietary toolsets
- Actively contribute to the highly iterative lighting workflow, collaborating closely with World Artists and Designers from functional passes to final polish to meet gameplay needs
- Assist in shaping the visual direction and mood of environments by establishing early lighting ideas and hues
- Develop sophisticated dynamic/scripted lighting elements, character/object lighting setups, and in-game narrative content
- Work closely with leadership, Art Direction, and cross-discipline teams to establish and maintain Destiny 2's lighting aesthetic and technical standards
- Provide constructive feedback to fellow artists and designers, enhancing team collaboration and overall project quality
- Stay up to date on new developments in real-time rendering and proactively suggest workflow improvements
Sound like you? This is what we're looking for:
- Exceptional artistic eye and mastery of lighting, shadow, and color for creating impactful, mood-driven spaces
- High level of understanding of composition, materials/shaders, PBR, and real-time lighting/rendering technologies
- Extensive experience lighting characters and complex environments (interior & exterior, various times of day) using diverse real-time techniques
- Proven ability to expertly propose and adapt lighting references for high-fidelity visuals
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; able to lead on complex lighting challenges independently and participate in an iterative team by giving and receiving constructive feedback
- Extensive experience with and passion for games, with a proven track record of successful gameplay lighting
- A strong real-time lighting portfolio
- Proven experience with real-time time-of-day cycles
- Significant real-time cinematic lighting experience
- Experience working on sci-fi games
- Experience guiding and mentoring junior artists

The base salary range is $99,000 to $135,000. The stated pay scale reflects the range that SkyBox Labs reasonably expects to pay for this position. Your base salary will be determined by various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, skills, and experience.
