Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review existing training programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and / or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
- Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop training programs that are engaging and effective.
- Ensure that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
- Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and / or industry.
- Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
- Collaborate with Managers to create career pathways for growth plan.
- Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of training including but not limited to onboarding, one-on-one training, and classroom training for employees.
- Develop unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
- Create and / or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
- Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Ensure internally developed courses deliver consistent messages that are aligned with policies, strategies and business plans.
- Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to an approved training budget.
- Utilize Cornerstone On Demand (LMS) platform to create and manage training content and resources.
- Prepares and implements training budget, maintains records and reports of expense.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Reports to VP of Construction Technology.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
- Thorough understanding of the training process.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to moderate large groups.
- Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Strength in designing and implementing effective training and development.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work under pressure.
- Have experience working across multiple-client groups and functions.
- Some travel to California and Washington required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, organizational development, training, business or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience working in a Learning and Development department or team.
- Construction / General Contractor or similar industry experience preferred.
- Learning Management System (LMS) knowledge required, Cornerstone On Demand preferred.
