Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Review existing training programs; suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and / or to meet the changing needs of clientele, the organization, or the industry.
    • Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to design and develop training programs that are engaging and effective.
    • Ensure that training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
    • Maintain knowledge of new methods and techniques for training, and training requirements applicable to the organization and / or industry.
    • Identify problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
    • Collaborate with Managers to create career pathways for growth plan.
    • Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of training including but not limited to onboarding, one-on-one training, and classroom training for employees.
    • Develop unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
    • Create and / or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
    • Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
    • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
    • Ensure internally developed courses deliver consistent messages that are aligned with policies, strategies and business plans.
    • Ensure that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to an approved training budget.
    • Utilize Cornerstone On Demand (LMS) platform to create and manage training content and resources.
    • Prepares and implements training budget, maintains records and reports of expense.
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    • Reports to VP of Construction Technology.

Required Skills / Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong graphic design ability.
    • Thorough understanding of the training process.
    • Strong presentation skills with the ability to moderate large groups.
    • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
    • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
    • Strength in designing and implementing effective training and development.
    • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Have experience working across multiple-client groups and functions.
    • Some travel to California and Washington required.

Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, organizational development, training, business or a related field preferred.
    • 3+ years’ experience working in a Learning and Development department or team.
    • Construction / General Contractor or similar industry experience preferred.
    • Learning Management System (LMS) knowledge required, Cornerstone On Demand preferred.
