What We Do:
The Skyral Defence Engineering function is responsible for shaping and delivering our products to our customers. We consist of multiple teams focused on creating tools that support and deliver modelling and data science as part of the Skyral offering.
What We Are Looking For:
- Expert understanding and Experience leading with one JavaScript SPA framework (React is preferred) with its associated libraries (e.g. Redux, RxJS) and tooling (e.g. Webpack/Rollup, Jest, Yarn).
- Hands-on experience working with Node.js and its associated frameworks (Express, NestJS, Gatsby) for the development of websites and APIs.
- Proficiency with containerized deployments (Docker and Kubernetes).
- Experience with implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices, including git branching, automated testing and the establishment of automated deployment pipelines.
- Adopting an engineering delivery mindset, capable of making challenging decisions and prioritising technical choices to align with Skyral’s objectives.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Take ownership of the frontend architectural decisions and integration strategies for Skyral Defence and oversee technical direction.
- Participate in every aspect of the engineering workflow, both as a contributor and as a lead/reviewer. This will encompass activities such as: conducting reviews, creating architectural design documentation, prototyping, brainstorming concepts, technology selection and devising data strategy. Transform prototype models into scalable, resilient and high performing systems.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to a team of engineers, steering them towards best practices and fostering their professional growth.
- Collaborate with designers to establish a comprehensive design system that includes reusable component libraries, style guides and design guidelines, ensuring a consistent and cohesive user experience.
- Develop reusable client-side layers that streamline access to other Skyral services, promoting efficiency and modularity in the software architecture.
