OUR ORIGIN STORY 🎂

In 2011 SkySlope started as an idea born at the kitchen table of our CEO, with just him and two others. Headquartered in Sacramento, California, we have since grown out of our previous 3 offices and many of our close to 150 employees are spread all across the United States. Those 150 employees support close to 300,000 users across 5,000 offices nationwide and now in Canada as well. Included in that is 8 out of the 15 largest Real Estate Brokerages in the nation.

But, despite being happy with what we’ve achieved we know that as industry leaders in our space there’s a lot of work left to be done. All of the growth and success that has happened is a result of us obsessing over building cutting edge software that makes the Real Estate world a better place. We know this only happens by hiring people who don’t just come up with out of the box ideas but hiring people who actually see those ideas through and bring them to life. As we’ve grown, we’ve been fortunate enough to hire plenty of people who possess that quality and realize it’s equally important to hire people who can pair that skill with empathy, collaboration, and a keen sense of urgency. If you’re looking to join a company where you can have real impact and surround yourself with an incredible team of people then look no further.

Why This Role Matters

Smart teams use AI. Great teams build it.

At SkySlope, we’re doing both. As a Machine Learning Engineer III, you’ll design, train, and deploy models that power intelligent features like document understanding, automated workflows, and context-aware assistance for real estate professionals. You’ll also take those models the last mile by integrating them into production systems, building APIs, and making sure they’re reliable at scale.

Some days you’ll be experimenting with prompts or tuning model performance. Other days you’ll be deep in code, fixing edge cases, wiring up services, or building fast prototypes to test new ideas. If you like applying AI in practical, user-facing ways and enjoy working on systems that actually ship, you’ll feel right at home.

What You’ll Do

    • Own the full ML lifecycle: data discovery, experimentation, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring
    • Build and serve models for NLP, context-aware agents, and intelligent document parsing
    • Design scalable APIs and infrastructure with Docker, AWS, and CI/CD
    • Write unit and integration tests and lead code and design reviews to keep quality high
    • Set and communicate project priorities, coordinating with teammates and product to hit sprint goals
    • Debug production issues and participate in an on-call rotation to maintain uptime
    • Help shape architecture and shared tooling for our growing ML practice
    • Stay current on AI research (generative, computer vision, reinforcement learning) and bring new ideas to production
    • Tackle fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous projects where prototypes evolve into production features
    • Mentor junior engineers and foster a healthy, curious, delivery-oriented team culture

Tech You’ll Use

    • Languages and Libraries: Python, NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
    • Deep Learning: CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, LLMs
    • Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, MS-SQL
    • MLOps: Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS (SageMaker and EC2), MLflow, FastAPI
    • CI and Testing: pytest, Argo, CodeFresh, Jenkins
    • Data and Monitoring: Feature stores, model registries, log and drift dashboards
    • Nice to Have: OpenCV, Kubeflow, React/TypeScript, Bash scripting, Agile/Scrum experience

What You Bring

    • 5 or more years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 in applied machine learning
    • A record of shipping ML products in production and supporting them in operations
    • A builder’s mindset. You’re not afraid of ambiguity or evolving specs, and you know when a quick prototype is the fastest path to learning
    • Clear, direct communication with technical and non-technical partners. You can explain models and trade-offs and work through disagreement with respect
    • Curiosity, ownership, and the drive to take ideas from sketch to release
