What you’ll do:
- Be part of a team that is supporting FEMA in designing and implementing customer-centric digital service solutions by leveraging customer feedback and data.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights into user needs, behaviors, and experiences.
- Design and implement research studies, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and usability testing.
- Design lo-fi mockups and hi-fi prototypes using Figma.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and engineers, to integrate research findings into design decisions and product development.
- Communicate research findings and actionable recommendations to stakeholders through compelling presentations and reports.
- Contribute to the development of our HCD research methodologies and practices.
- Stay abreast of trends and advancements in human-centered design and research methodologies.
What we’d like you to have:
- A bachelor’s degree in user experience and research, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in user experience work, including user research and usability testing.
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in designing for government and large-scale organizations.
- An ability to manage and execute research projects from inception through completion.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and using research findings to drive design and innovation.
- Proficiency in using research tools and software for data collection and analysis.
What would blow us away:
- Previous experience supporting a federal agency.
