Supporting Cast seeks a passionate, creative developer with PHP experience to expand on Supporting Cast’s premium podcasting platform. As a key member of our team, you'll be helping independent podcasters, networks, and media companies improve their financial sustainability and better satisfy their listeners. You'll be joining a small development team and will be in a position to have a huge influence on our tech stack and our rapidly evolving product. We will consider candidates from any location, provided you can work U.S. East Coast hours—the role can be fully remote, or you may choose to work out of Slate's D.C. or Brooklyn offices.
About the Position
- Learn a lot about the fast-growing podcast industry and the fast-growing membership-service space
- Scale an application as we onboard clients with tens of thousands of members and evaluate new technologies
- Build and maintain an API for clients
- Build and maintain implementations for other websites, including but not limited to WordPress plug-ins and JS/iframe embeds
- 1–3 years professional experience with PHP, and a PHP framework such as Laravel
- Familiar with programming fundamentals and industry best practices. A CS degree is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to adapt and learn on the job

Project management: Agile-oriented. ZenHub, Google Docs, Slack

Supporting Cast enables podcasters and audiobook publishers to launch podcast subscription programs and sell premium audio content that listeners can access through their podcast apps.
