About the role
The Application Services (App Services) team is a core part of our platform engineering group. The App Services team builds and manages the top-of-the-stack products and services for our platform engineering group. These products provide cross-cutting features to other product teams to aid in building their specific features and capabilities. These include various platform-wide capabilities like
· Events/audit logging.
· Multi-tenant configuration, quota management, and isolation controls.
· API Management.
· Centralized metering, billing, and FinOps.
· Identity and access management, and much more.
These systems and capabilities are a core part of all the products on the Smarsh platform and help ensure our teams can build high-quality functionality consistently and reliably.

As a Technical Product Manager on the App Services team, you are responsible for defining the direction and roadmap for the product to enable our downstream product team to build highly reliable products. You will work with business, engineering, and other teams to -
· Reduce overall time spent by product teams on building and integrating cross-cutting capabilities multiple times across the platform.
· Build products that improve overall DevEx and enable Smarsh product teams to build new capabilities much faster.
· Build features and capabilities that enable our product teams to reduce adoption efforts and improve the overall ease of use of the Smarsh platform for end customers.

Essential Functions

    • Develop product strategy vision and roadmaps, and develop short, medium and long-term features to achieve the vision.
    • Create buy-ins for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
    • Develop detailed, crisp business (functional & non-functional) requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application.
    • Work closely with engineering teams to deliver products to market.
    • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals.
    • Proactively identify collisions of capacity and utilize stand prioritization matrices to determine the best course of action.
    • Work with team leadership to understand the customer and their needs and concerns as well as define solutions.
    • Support project lead in efficient and effective program implementation.
    • Champion and gain buy-in for the strategy and roadmap from partner teams through collaboration, documentation, and negotiation that effectively influences peers and senior management.
    • Develop user experience goals, stories and requirements that will be used to drive product specifications.

Education and Experience

    • 5+ years of Product Management experience; bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, design, or related field; or equivalent work experience
    • Experience launching Enterprise products.
    • Experience working cross functionally (design, engineering, usability, content development).
    • Analytical and quantitative skills; experience using hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases.
    • Deep understanding and experience in software architecture/software engineering.
    • Experience working with diverse groups of people to manage and influence change broad technical breadth and depth including familiarity with web services, and platform architectures.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • Passion for creating innovative solutions for consumers.
    • Experience delivering Enterprise products and services in a high growth environment.
    • Experience with AWS’ services, architectures, and pricing models. AWS Architecture certifications desired.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
    • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired.
    • Strong understanding of business and/or technology domain.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to quality.
    • Strong understanding of appropriate technologies, vendor products offerings.
    • The ability to take in stride dynamically changing circumstances, priorities, and assignments.
    • Adept at developing and fostering strong business relationships with colleagues within the department and across the company, in multiple locations and time zones.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work streams at the same time.
    • Strong interpersonal leadership skills.
