JOB TITLE: Material Handler
LOCATION: North Chicago, IL
JOB TYPE: Temp to Hire
1ST SHIFT - 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
2nd SHIFT - 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (Monday - Thursday)
About the Role:
• Responsible for the safe handling, storing labeling and loading/unloading of materials
• Maintain the integrity of materials stored in the warehouse
•Pull and put away chemicals and components in accordance with special instruction on picking lists
• Label chemical containers and components
• Store materials into various floor locations, racks and shelves
• Operate Forklifts, Reach Trucks, and/or Power Pallet Jack
• Hand load empty/dirty recon drums onto trailers, if requested
• Participate in full physical inventories as scheduled
•Safely load, unload, and transport hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals
• Other duties as needed
Requirements for the Material Handler
•RF scanning experience, preferred
• Forklift experience, required
• Must be able to read, comprehend and write English
• Basic math skills needed
• Wear respirators and PPE as required
• Work with chemicals
• Follow all applicable policies related to attendance/job performance/safety
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment
• Responsibilities involving food safety, when required
