SMS Staffing is hiring immediately for a Machine Operator position in Columbia, IL (East St. Louis, MO area)!
JOB TITLE: Machine Operator
JOB LOCATION: Columbia, IL
JOB TYPE: Temp to Hire
PAY: $16.00/HOUR
1ST SHIFT: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday)
About the Role:
The Machine Operator performs various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator is also responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting or making tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:
● Review work orders (written or verbal)
● Set up, test, and adjust machines using gauges and hand tools
● Load workpieces into machines
● Start, monitor, and record operation data on machines
● Know how to changeover
Physical Demand of the Machine Operator.
● Regularly required to use a finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk to hear
● Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs
● Frequency required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
● Occasionally, required to sit, climb, or balance
● Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus
Requirements
● The Machine Operator must be able to read and understand job requirements and material specifications
● Desirable experience of 6 months
