Director of Marketing
We’re launching a new line of products that will transform the mortgage industry! As our Director of Marketing (and our first marketing hire), you’ll build the function and hire amazing people to execute on your vision. In true startup fashion, your responsibilities will also include all the functions of a marketing department, with an initial emphasis on product marketing, demand gen, PR, and conferences.
Snapdocs is an early-stage, rapidly growing company backed by Sequoia, SV Angel, and YCombinator. We are tackling the massive mortgage market, developing modern software for an industry that still relies on fax machines and manila envelopes. We bring security, efficiency, and joy to a paper-based pillar of the US economy. Somehow we’ve managed to capture ~5% of all US mortgages (50k closings monthly) without a marketing department. We’re revolutionizing an industry; we want our customers to understand who we are and to feel excited about it. With that being said, we need a deeper understanding of our market. Who exactly are we targeting? What do they read? What conferences do they attend? Who are the influencers? Who makes decisions about the adoption of new technology? Pricing and packaging of new product lines is also a big open question. Help us nail the right strategy and execution with first call decks, demo sequence, competitor tear sheets, objection handling... Build us a winning playbook!
We’re looking for an experienced (6+ years) marketing professional, with a focus on product marketing (3+). In this role, you’ll need to be part-visionary, part-diplomat, part-manager, and part-communicator. You know how to tease out the right information from internal partners and clients alike and play that information back in a simpler, more convincing, and eloquent way. In a pinch, you can hack your own design, copy editing, and email campaigns to ensure our marketing is successful even with a small team. Finally, an ability to manage outwards and upwards. As a department builder, you’ll teach the rest of company what it means to have a strong marketing function.
