Summary: So Good Brand Inc. is seeking a dynamic individual who is detail-oriented, good with numbers, and has the capability to manage AP, AR, and daily accounting work. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent communication skills, proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively interact with all team members, stakeholders, customers, and vendors. The ideal candidate will lead in all areas of accounting and accounting administrative support.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, frequently changing environment, while maintaining and building appropriate internal controls and processes.
The Assistant Controller ensures the accounting and internal controls produce accurate & timely financial statements and adequately protect the organization’s assets and that all required internal and external reports are produced accurately and in accordance with the agreed-upon schedule. The Assistant Controller will assist in maintaining the company’s objectives, policies, and procedures. Additionally, the Assistant Controller plans, organizes, and controls financial management activities and other support activities necessary to properly operate the business.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee A/R, A/P, and work with team members to complete tasks on hand, including:
- Approval of weekly check runsReview and follow up for cash receipts and receivables outstanding
- Review routine inventory processes and countsCoordinate and approve general journal entries
- Manage the month-end close process and ensure timely delivery of monthly reporting
- Support and assist with internal reporting as needed
- Assist with the annual tax preparation and financial audit as required
- Enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
- Lead the accounting organization and ensure an environment of trust and productivity
- Rigorously manage cash, accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable
- Produce the monthly financial statements respecting deadlines established by Management for both internal and external customers
- Execute financial analysis, develop appropriate remedial recommendations, and report to Management
- Assist with the process of establishing and monitoring the annual budgetTreasury – Make sure that all transactions are recorded on a daily basis including all Bank Transactions, Credit Card Fees, Wire Activity, Bank Transfers, and Deposits
- Maintain appropriate cash balances in accountsFixed Assets – Review schedule to record, classify and depreciate fixed assets for multiple locations
- Assist with annual Audit and Budget process
- Design and implement policies and procedures. Maintain internal controls. Responsible for identifying and implementing efficiencies with daily processing and reporting activities
- Other reconciliations, reports, calculations, and comparisons as requested
- Manage the employee expense reimbursement platform (final review/approval/integration with the ERP system)
- Lead direct reports with a human-focused leadership style; you should have proven exceptional interpersonal skills to instruct or assign work to other team members while motivating, coaching and developing their skillset

What You'll Bring - Qualifications
- 6+ years of proven accounting experience minimum 3 years in Manufacturing both in Operational accounting and GAAP
- 4+ years of exceptional, human centric communication and leadership skills
- Must have experience in handling AP, AR, Inventory, and other administrative tasks
- Strong leadership skills to lead by example and able to delegate functions and responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with external and internal personnel
- Strong ability to multitask and meet hard deadlines
- Advanced Excel expert knowledge Established CPA license or CPA license eligible
- Experience with Quickbooks and Fishbowl ERP strongly preferred
