Solestial, Inc. is a solar energy company for space. Solestial’s core technology is a breakthrough ultra-thin silicon solar cell that can self-cure radiation damage at normal operating temperatures in space, packaged in a flexible, lightweight panel designed to achieve minimum degradation for up to 10 years in LEO. Solestial panels can be mass-produced using automated machines, resulting in costs 90% lower than incumbent technologies, with virtually unlimited manufacturing capacity. The Role:
The Supply Chain Lead will ensure Solestial has a constant supply of all materials and components necessary for the production of space solar cells and modules. This role will report to the Head of Manufacturing and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead material planning, supplier base management, logistics, inventory, and production coordination functions
- Establish foundational processes for material and hardware entry and processing throughout the facility, including Item Master, BOM creation, clear-to-build analysis, and data analytics.
- Develop material management, flow, and production control strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve supplier quality, sustaining a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Conducted supplier evaluations, issued corrective actions, and supported the development of critical suppliers.
- Confirm supplier compliance with industry standards, such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and NASA quality requirements.
- Analyze defect data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement among suppliers.
Your Background:
- 8+ years of experience in supplier-quality engineering
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, NASA quality standards)
- Technical and experiential knowledge of manufacturing processes and standards necessary to manufacture and validate space-quality hardware
- Familiarity with high-volume inspection methods and data-driven acceptance methods
- Strong knowledge of enterprise applications (i.e., PLM, ERP, MES) and proficient in data analysis
- Self-starter that has demonstrated the ability to define and own a process from scratch and roll out that process through adept communication with a diverse
