The Role:

As the EHS Specialist you will be tasked with establishing and maintaining a safe work environment for Solestial employees. You will work closely with facilities on gas monitoring systems, waste, proper hazard labeling, and building training. Additionally, you will work with engineering teams on new tool facility requirements such as exhaust, water, waste, supply, etc. This is a full time position for the development and maintenance of a new solar cell fabrication facility. This role will expand to lead a team of EHS personnel for multi-facility safety and maintenance.

Specific Responsibilities to Include:

    • Coordinate gas monitoring development for a new facility
    • Replace and send out sensors for recalibration
    • Periodic sensor testing
    • Periodic checks on tool exhaust to confirm compliance
    • Work with engineering teams on safety surrounding equipment development and installation, including gas monitoring, particulate generation and general technician safety
    • SOP cataloguing for facility tools
    • Managing new and updating employee trainings
    • Creating simple online documents for manager transparency e.g. an employee training list
    • Periodic resistivity measurements of DI water supply stations
    • Check resupply and expiration dates on personnel PPE stores
    • Placing hazard labels and updating NFPA diamonds in the facility
    • Periodic anemometer checks on airflow to make sure chemical hoods are maintaining face velocity
    • Maintaining and updating facility SDS books
    • Working with 3rd party suppliers to maintain minimum level of safety equipment in facility
    • Assist with OSHA compliance and up-to-date worker safety forms

Your Background:

    • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in EHS in an industrial setting
