About SOLFL
SOLFL is a new movement in conscious education dedicated to cultivating spiritual intelligence. Our first school, SOLFL עץ חיים, a new PK-12 Miami Torah Earth School, is opening in September 2025. The campus will serve as a farm and living classroom where children can learn in and from nature. SOLFL offers a holistic curriculum that integrates spiritual practice, entrepreneurship, creative expression and ecology with academic learning-emphasizing the interconnectedness of all things.
About the Role
We are seeking a soulful and innovative Math Teacher for Grades 4–8 who sees mathematics as a language of the universe—capable of revealing patterns, truths, and beauty. In this role, you will teach core math content across upper elementary and middle school, while collaborating across disciplines to bring learning to life in integrated, nature-connected ways. You will also co-lead STEM work cycles, working closely with the Science team to support student-led inquiry and the development of mastery-based portfolios. You are as excited to teach algebra under a mango tree as you are to introduce geometry through building structures or analyzing ecological data from the garden. You’ll be instrumental in helping students access math at multiple tiered levels, ensuring that each learner is challenged appropriately—whether they are solidifying foundations or exploring advanced concepts beyond their grade level.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Math across Grades 4–8, with differentiated instruction in topics including fractions, ratios, expressions, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and Geometry
- Collaborate with Science and Humanities educators to design interdisciplinary learning cycles that integrate data analysis, scientific reasoning, and ecological themes
- Guide students in developing mastery portfolios that showcase real-world applications of math and STEM skills
- Incorporate nature-based experiences, fieldwork, and Torah-aligned principles into your teaching when possible
- Support project-based learning, inquiry, and documentation in collaboration with the broader teaching team
- Participate in regular assessment, narrative feedback, and parent communication
- Engage in ongoing professional development and whole-school initiatives aligned with SOLFL’s mission
You are the ideal candidate if you:
- Are deeply fluent in mathematics and excited to teach a wide range of learners (from Grade 4 to high school-level Pre-Calculus)
- Have strong experience in tiered or differentiated instruction and a commitment to equity and inclusion in your classroom
- See math as more than formulas—it’s a way to understand life, relationships, nature, and truth
- Are passionate about integrating math into STEM, environmental science, engineering, and real-world problem-solving
- Thrive in dynamic, collaborative settings and can adapt gracefully to change
- Are open to nontraditional pedagogies (Montessori, Waldorf, IB, experiential learning) and grounded in values of interconnectedness, reverence, and student-led inquiry
- Are excited to co-create curriculum with other educators rather than follow a pre-made script
Bonus If You:
- Have experience supporting neurodiverse learners and developing alternative assessments
- Have taught or supported portfolio-based or mastery learning models
- Have worked in forest schools, eco-literacy programs, or expeditionary learning models
- Are familiar with Torah studies, permaculture, or sacred geometry
- Bring a spiritual or mindful presence to your teaching practice
Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
- Small class sizes and meaningful relationships with students
- Access to ongoing professional development in ecological education, spiritual pedagogy, and mastery-based learning
- A deeply supportive community of mission-aligned educators and visionaries
- Opportunity to help shape the soul of a pioneering learning model
