About SOLFL

SOLFL is a new movement in conscious education dedicated to cultivating spiritual intelligence. Our first school, SOLFL עץ חיים, a new PK-12 Miami Torah Earth School, is opening in September 2025. The campus will serve as a farm and living classroom where children can learn in and from nature. SOLFL offers a holistic curriculum that integrates spiritual practice, entrepreneurship, creative expression and ecology with academic learning-emphasizing the interconnectedness of all things.

About the Role

SOLFL is seeking an experienced Ecology & Science lead with a passion for environmentalism, conservation, and hands-on local ecosystem education. The ideal candidate will lead the implementation of SOLFL’s Web of Life curriculum, which immerses students in deep ecology, marine biology, conservation, and farming. This educator will lead curriculum development as well.

Key Responsibilities

    • Write, Teach & Lead the Web of Life Curriculum: Engage students in immersive, hands-on learning experiences that connect them deeply to the local ecosystem, our campus farm, nature’s wisdom, and environmental conservation efforts while ensuring students receive appropriate related education in all science disciples (biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, astronomy).
    • Facilitate Marine & Conservation Education: Design and lead lessons focused on marine mammals, water conservation, ecosystems, and sustainability efforts in South Florida.
    • Curriculum Development: Work collaboratively with the SOLFL curriculum team to design integrated thematic units that explore ecology, biodiversity, conservation, and sustainability for different age groups.
    • Engage with Community & Experts: Connect students with local conservationists, farmers, and marine biologists to provide real-world context to learning experiences.
    • Promote Environmental Stewardship: Instill a sense of responsibility and innovation in students to create sustainable solutions for the planet.

Ideal Background

    • Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Education, Marine Biology, or related fields.
    • Experience teaching outdoor, hands-on environmental education programs.
    • Expertise in local ecosystems, marine life, conservation, and sustainable farming practices.
    • Strong leadership and project management skills to maintain outdoor learning environments.
    • Ability to engage students in interactive and inquiry-based learning experiences.
    • Experience working with children and educators in a nature-based, experiential learning environment.
    • Passion for deep ecology, sustainability, and fostering a connection between students and the natural world.
