We are seeking a highly skilled and consultative Senior BI Analyst / Product Analyst to join our team. This role is a hybrid of a traditional BI Analyst and a Product Analyst, focused on providing strategic thought leadership and deep analysis for our new advertising business.

You'll play a crucial role in building new advertising business from the ground up, with a focus on data ingestion, analysis, and reporting. This is a unique opportunity to own projects from end-to-end, work with novel data sources, and provide strategic thought leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

    • Consultative Analysis & Problem Solving: Serve as the primary analytical partner for our advertising, marketing, and partnerships teams. You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their goals and help them define their needs, often translating a vague vision into concrete analytical requirements.
    • Novel Data Exploration & Insights Generation: Dive into novel and complex datasets, such as our food and advertising data, to surface strategic insights. This includes identifying changing trends, running analyses to support business conversations, and even creating new data mappings (e.g., matching brands to retailers) to answer key questions.
    • Business Requirements & Stakeholder Management: Conduct requirements gathering for our BI initiatives. You'll be the bridge between our business teams and the technical teams, ensuring that reporting and analysis efforts are aligned with business objectives.
    • Data Quality & User Journey Analysis: Perform thorough QA on data to ensure accuracy and logical flow. You will be responsible for identifying and communicating data quality issues and providing feedback to our data engineering team to improve data pipelines.
    • Reporting & Communication: Communicate findings and insights clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences. While you'll work with Tableau dashboards, your primary focus will be on the "what" and "why" behind the data, rather than just the "how" of the report.

Mandatory requirements:

    • Extensive experience as a BI Analyst or Product Analyst, with a strong background in strategic analysis.
    • Expertise in data analysis, including an ability to identify trends, outliers, and logical fallacies in data.
    • Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and exploration.
    • Experience with Tableau or similar BI tools for visualizing data.
    • Demonstrated experience in a consultative role, guiding stakeholders and managing business requirements.

Optional requirements:

    • Experience working with advertising, marketing, or partnership data.
    • Previous experience in a fast-paced environment where you've had to make sense of novel or ambiguous data sources.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead discussions and influence business strategy.

Tech stack:

    • Snowflake for data warehousing.
    • Tableau for BI and reporting.
    • Google Ad Manager integration is underway; experience with this tool is a plus.
    • Existing data lake architecture includes raw, structured, and curated zones.
    • Preference for data marts that plug into Tableau's relationship system — not heavily SQL-based dashboards.
