As the Team Lead, you will coordinate a high-performance, collaborative team of developers under the guidance of the Development Manager, ensuring that the team's approach and delivery align with departmental policies.
You will also ensure that the quality of all team deliveries meets the defined criteria, while engaging with various groups across the business to enable your team to effectively deliver products and updates that fulfill customer requirements and expectations.
This role reports to the Senior Manager of Applications Programming, please note this role is a technical role.
What You Will Do
- Manage a small group of developers within a Development Manager’s team, mentoring and coaching them to achieve high performance, competency, and commitment while supporting their career progression.
- Provide critical and constructive assessments of staff performance to enable the Development Manager to objectively and consistently review team remuneration and advancement.
- Actively drive the delivery of high-value and high-quality solutions under the guidance of the Development Manager within a matrix-management structure.
- Actively contribute to release planning.
- Coach and promote effective knowledge sharing across all team activities.
- Ensure adherence to Sophos Code Quality Standards.
- Ensure the quality of releases through Test-Driven Development and test coverage reviews.
- Influence the team to demonstrate best practices and champion the company’s values.
- Incrementally improve system design throughout projects and BAU deliverables.
- Seek feedback from key stakeholders throughout the project (Business sponsors, IT Application team, Support, etc.).
- Proactively monitor and drive improvements in the stability and security of code produced through Continuous Integration, with a focus on test automation and security best practices.
- Contribute to and deliver on the wider team priority list, owned by the Development Manager.
- Support production incidents through to resolution.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations, identify trends and areas of weakness, and drive corrective actions.
- Promote an atmosphere of innovation and results focus.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
What You Will Bring - Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of experience leading a technical software development team.
- Technical background, preferably in CRM systems or web-based application development.
- Experience with Scrum Master and Agile methodologies.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of Security Best Practices.
- Strong ability to motivate both teams and individuals.
- Proficient in performance management.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Skilled in delegation.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Must be willing to work from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Manila time.
What You Will Bring - Desirable
- Experience working with Salesforce.
- Exposure to risk assessment and mitigation.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
