Role Summary

Sophos is looking to add Senior Manager, Business Analysis to its Enterprise Data and Analytics team.  This role offers the opportunity to work in an exciting, open, and collaborative environment as part of the IT Application Services team.  As a Senior Manager, Business Analysis, you will be responsible for leading a global team of senior business analysts and working with stakeholders across the organization to deliver in-depth business requirements, perform data analysis, and provide actionable insights across all platforms to support the Sophos team.  A successful candidate will have a love for data, and how it can be used to improve business decisions and provide better outcomes for our customers.  It will require strong knowledge of data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence reporting, and experience managing a team.

What You Will Do:

    • Lead a global team of senior business analysts, ensuring consistency of processes and approach.
    • Serve as primary liaison between our business and technical teams, ensuring business processes and requirements are clear, measurable, and articulated in a manner that allows the technical team to propose, estimate, and deliver appropriate solutions.
    • Effectively communicate enterprise services and delivered solutions to drive adoption and increase engagement.
    • Build strong relationships with internal business peers and develop and maintain an understanding of the business process areas that require business intelligence solutions.
    • Define and manage the priority of business requests made from a variety of internal customers.
    • Represent the team on cross-functional enhancements and projects, including the coordination and resolution of issues, where required. 
    • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, interviews, and other activities to gather requirements.
    • Model current-state and future-state business processes and ask questions needed to fully understand business objectives.  Ensure requirements and proposed solutions map clearly to the established objectives. 
    • Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure that technical standards are met, and that requirements meet the definition of ready before being implemented. 
    • Be a key influencer, driving needed change by collaborating across organizational boundaries at all levels in the organization.
    • Work with the business on user acceptance test scope and ensuring approvals by agreed timelines. 
    • Use a variety of data sources to tell the story in simple terms, identifying patterns and trends to unlock opportunities to deliver business value to internal and external customers.

What You Will Bring:

    • Experience managing a team of employees with responsibility for resource allocation, work process, and procedures.
    • The ability to articulate vision to create energy and optimism, and persistently drive results, despite obstacles and setbacks.
    • The technical acumen to translate business needs into technical requirements.
    • Strong experience in business intelligence applications including databases, data warehouses, and reporting tools. 
    • Knowledge of industry-standard methodologies, tools, and processes for business and process analysis. 
    • The ability to weigh critical, well-informed trade-offs and have the data points to defend those decisions. 
    • Strong collaboration skills to interface successfully with a broad variety of stakeholders across multiple time zones and functional domains. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail. 
    • Ability to adapt communication style to technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing. 
    • Willingness to take an unpopular stand if necessary, facing adversity and encouraging tough debate in order to achieve the right outcome for the wider business.

    • Desirable: 
    • Experience with sales and financial applications such as Salesforce and Zuora.
    • Experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake.  
    • Experience with ETL such as Informatica or Talend and reporting tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
