As the Director of Brand and Content Marketing Sophos, you will spearhead our brand and content marketing strategy, shaping the narrative and driving engagement across diverse marketing and media channels, with design, content, and video. You will ideate, execute, and optimize high-impact content marketing programs, defined by a powerful, cohesive visual identity that distinguishes Sophos in the industry. You will lead and develop a team of high-performing design, creative, and content marketing professionals, and be responsible for identifying and managing external agencies and vendors.
This pivotal role will directly influence our brand perception, amplify thought leadership, and contribute significantly to demand and revenue generation. Working closely with our product, web, and regional marketing leadership teams, you will own our overall content marketing strategy and calendar, ensuring programs exceed business targets and resonate with our worldwide audience of IT cybersecurity practitioners, resellers, and managed service providers.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate storyteller with excellent communication skills, and a unique ability to leverage design, copy, video, and digital assets to turn complex concepts into accessible, easy-to-understand content. Candidates should be equally passionate about technology - ideally cybersecurity - with a proven track record of collaboration and tight business alignment.
What You Will Do
- Content Strategy: Own Sophos’s overall content marketing strategy and calendar; delivering a plan that exceeds defined business objectives and engages our global audience of cybersecurity practitioners, resellers, and MSP/MSSPs, Managed (Security) Service Providers
- Brand Ownership: Refine and strengthen Sophos’ perception in the market; ensure we bring a fresh, differentiated, and consistent brand and visual identity in the market
- Team Leadership: direct and mentor teams of both in-house and external design and content talent; create guidelines and processes that ensure our strategy, voice, and identity are well-understood and easily adopted by our global marketing organization
- Demand Generation: Help direct, define, and execute content initiatives to increase market perception of and demand for Sophos solutions and products
- Content Development: Develop comprehensive materials that empower our marketing, sales, and channel partners to effectively guide prospects through the buyer’s journey, encompassing various formats such as SEO-optimized web content, collateral, and nurturing campaigns
- Storytelling: Build high-impact presentations; craft compelling headlines, email content, and content that resonates with target audiences, driving engagement and conversions.
- Copywriting: Generate impactful ad and web copy that effectively connects with target personas, clearly conveying key messages and value propositions
- Project Management: Provide strategic input, content development, and project management support for complex projects, including but not limited to product launches, ensuring alignment with overarching strategies
What You Will Bring
- 5-10 years in a brand and content marketing role within a B2B SaaS company targeting enterprise-level clients, demonstrating expertise in both product marketing, design, and content marketing
- Experience in IT or cybersecurity fields is highly preferred, showcasing a deep understanding of the industry's nuances and challenges
- Proficiency in tailoring messages to diverse audiences, translating technical content into compelling narratives for various purposes
- Strong grasp of inbound/outbound marketing, content strategy, and account-based marketing, with a record of accomplishment in crafting engaging B2B content
- Proven ability to lead teams, innovate content strategies, and drive brand recognition through impactful storytelling
