Role Summary
Sophos is adding a Sr. Manager to our Product Marketing team who will support our product and service offerings for the Managed Service Provider and Managed Security Service Provider (MSP/MSSP) channel. You will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to build and deliver product marketing programs and resources that maximize awareness and understanding of Sophos’ portfolio of products and services among MSPs and MSSPs.
As a Sr. Marketing Manager, your primary goal is to act as a strategic partner to the business; providing actionable analysis of customer needs and market and competitive opportunities, and parlaying these insights into campaigns, programs, and resources that create a seamless buyer experience, greater satisfaction, and high levels of trust.
Working closely with several groups within Sophos, including Product Management, Brand Marketing, and Sales, you will lead product marketing content development, educate other departments on current product messaging, lead new product and service launches, and guide the overall go-to-market strategy.
This position will be based in the U.S., requiring daily collaboration with globally distributed teams, and requires some worldwide travel to Sophos offices and events.
What You Will Do
- Messaging and Positioning: Create bold, memorable, and consistent positioning statements, messaging, and associated proof points that differentiate Sophos’ MSP and MSSP offerings in the market
- Product and Service Launches: Plan and launch new products and services, capabilities, and releases, engaging with cross-functional teams for launch execution
- Go-to-Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with Product Management teams and engage with MSP/MSSP partners to identify buyer needs and opportunities to drive awareness and adoption of Sophos’ products and services.
- Sales Enablement: Understand and support our sales channels; train Sales teams on the problems we solve for our MSP/MSSP partners and develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it
- Market and Competitive Intelligence: Maintain knowledge of competitors’ product and services offerings and positioning in the market
- Strategic Planning: Assist in identifying market opportunities and gaps in offerings to ensure that Sophos products and services remain competitive and differentiated in the marketplace
- Measure Progress and Activities: Assess the effectiveness of Product Marketing initiatives on an ongoing basis, and report on objectives and status to business partners and management
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years of experience in security software and/or services or related, with knowledge of the MSP and MSSP channel ecosystem; experience with endpoint security, network security, managed services, and RMM/ITSM solutions is highly desireable
- Understanding and affinity for technology and ability to learn technical product details
- Exceptional written communication and content creation skills; ability to distill complex concepts into clear, compelling messaging
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; ability to deliver presentations that inspire audiences with varied technical expertise
- Intellectual curiosity, creativity and a well-rounded understanding of marketing strategies and tactics (content creation, social media, PR, SEO, etc.)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort with high-visibility initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing resources and several projects simultaneously
- Strategic thinking, and the ability to turn vision into structured plans and actions.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and organizational skills
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $137,000 to $228,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
