ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist / HR Partner to support our Romanian, UAE and South African HR operations; the incumbent will have the responsibility for full lifecycle HR activities and for the provision of effective HR advice and coaching to managers and non-local HR colleagues. The role sits alongside like-minded, team focused colleagues, all who are all passionate about driving Sophos’ global HR agenda. You will also have responsibility for ensuring that our local people practices are delivered to the highest degree of customer satisfaction, including effective execution of active administration involved in the role.
You will work closely with Global HR Business Partners and Local Leaders to support the delivery of business outcomes and HR Projects and initiatives. You will provide full cycle HR support from offers and onboarding through to employee terminations, including payroll processing, policy support and advice (work with our internal legal team and HR management), employee relations, performance and merit cycles, employee engagement and local execution of global HR programs.

What you will do
- Provision of coaching and guidance to managers across a broad range of HR topics
- Full cycle HR activities including:
- Monthly payroll and time worked report production; liaison with payroll to ensure the timely execution of all payroll matters, e.g. joiners, leavers, promotions, changes, bonuses, etc.
- Offers, contracts and onboarding new hires, off boarding leavers;
- Orientation of new hires and manager promotes
- HRIS management, e.g. changes to job or personnel details, establishing org chart positions and linking to employee profiles,
- Managing employee files (on line and/or physical)
- VISA applications and recording/reporting processes
- Managing and reporting working time, absences, and all leave types as required
- Development of local policy and regulations and effective communication thereof.
- Working with HR Partners to support the delivery and execution of global HR programs, building out appropriate localised solutions to manage change
- Able to use available data points that inform people trends and HR strategies, e.g. staff turnover, organisational growth, D&I
- Champion Sophos culture and employee engagement and development.
What you will bring
- ESSENTIAL
- 5 years + experience of working in HR Administration and as an HR Generalist; developing towards HR Partner level of some Partner experience in an environment where change is the norm.
- Experienced supporting and managing cradle to grave and annual cycle HR solutions and practices.
- Able to support HR Partners with change programs, able to or developing the ability to explain the rationale and show the value, rather than just recite policy or law.
- Proven experience of managing priorities based on business needs
- Proven background of delivery in a complex and fast-paced international work environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence and to build strong relationships, working with a variety of personalities, management levels and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability of driving initiatives and activities to successful completion
- PREFERRED
- Previous experience of working in an international business, proven to participate as a member of business-wide HR & management team
- Project management experience
- US global HR environment
- SKILLS & ABILITIES
- HR Degree qualified or equivalent or working towards; sound and current knowledge of Romania (and ideally at least one other country, e.g. UAE or South Africa) employment law
- Highly collaborative with a strong desire to deliver results and create a positive work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to adapt to a variety of communication settings and styles
- Strong prioritisation skills
- Ability to work as part of a team, whilst simultaneously being accountable for personal delivery and results
- Understanding of commercial drivers
- Conflict resolution
- Design and implementation of policies
- Excellent time management experience; able to manage conflicting priorities and utilise the wider team to support with least disruption to the business
- Fluent in Romanian and English – written and spoken.
Sophos offers hybrid or remote working for this role so that you have the ability to agree flexible working between days in the office and working from home. Other European languages and experience of providing services to other EMEA countries are always useful but not essential.
