Role Summary
You will be responsible for delivering and supporting data integrations from internal and external sources into the data warehouse technical stack, ensuring accurate data delivery to systems. You will be required to build new data integrations (ETL components) and make changes to existing software and will be a key role in designing and building a strong Enterprise Data warehouse.
What You Will Do
- Understanding business and data requirements, defining solution approach, designing and implementing the ETL components.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of various business process and system modelling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, and Use Case Scenarios.
- Develop Matillion ETL scripts and ETL orchestrations as required.
- Ensure the team is following best practices of ETL development.
- Leverage monitoring tools to track status of ETL Pipelines for performance and completion.
- Develop and write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract and insert data into and from the Datawarehouse.
- Engage with Business Analyst & Technical Architects to clarify business requirements and offer recommendations for improvements.
- Contribute to defining a scalable data warehouse architecture
- Responsible for the coordination of the production, development and sandbox environments.
- Responsible for coordinating releases with DevOps team and prepare the required documentation related to release.
- Participate in peer code reviews.
- Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members on technologies and processes
- Provide support and recommendation for testing and UAT for work being delivered
- Provide out of hours support as requested for incidents
- Participate in routine maintenance, performance tuning and support of ETL and the DW Environment.
What You Will Bring
- Essential:
- 2+ years of IT experience required in working with ETL in an enterprise environment.
- Knowledge in ETL Design methodologies including best practices, performance tuning, architecture, monitoring and alerting
- Knowledge of at least one ETL tool (SSIS, Informatica, Matillion, Talend, etc.)
- Experience with relational and dimensional data modelling and ability to represent data using standard modelling techniques
- Proficient with SQL and stored procedures.
- Experience in working with at least one of these warehouse technologies such as (SQL, Snowflake,AWS RedShift)
- Knowledge of the processes when working on pre-release environments, moving changes between environments
- Ability to deliver work to schedule (capable to self-manage workload and priority effectively).
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
- Passionate about complex data structures and problem solving
- Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Amenable to work remotely
- Amenable to work on EMEA Shift (4PM-1AM PHT)
- Experience with developing and testing APIs
- Experience with Snowflake and/or columnar data stores
- Experience with PowerBI
- Experience designing and managing end-to-end business reporting, from data sourcing and mapping, through to the production and delivery of reports
- Experience defining, implementing, and building products and roll-out strategy for Data Quality, MDM and Data Governance
