We currently have an opportunity for a Group Procurement Senior Manager to join our team based in Bristol or Exeter. Joining us on a 12 month fixed term basis, you will receive a competitive salary of circa £60,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 
About the role
 
As our Group Procurement Senior Manager you will be responsible, as a member of the procurement management team, for the full procurement and strategic commercial management lifecycle of the business, including development of sourcing strategies, support to purchasing and on-going supplier performance management.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Leading and managing a team of Procurement Business Partners (PBP) and Support staff to provide appropriate support to the business ensuring corporate and business development objectives are met
    • Coordinating and managing a portfolio of procurement projects including the procuring of goods and services necessary for the efficient running of the Pennon business
    • Supporting the Head of Procurement and Facilities Management for the development and ongoing management of a procurement strategy ensuring the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business by adding value, mitigating supply chain risk and delivering efficiencies
    • Developing and maintaining procurement and supply chain processes and systems ensuring governance with Pennon Group business rules, including Focus on the sourcing, evaluation and negotiation of significant (high value/risk) goods and services contracts and agreements of strategic importance to the business
    • Developing and maintaining a framework for the management of the supply base through development of contracts, contractual relationships, and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base (including NEC and IChemE)
    • Running regular supplier and contract performance reviews, based on feedback from supplier, business stakeholders and supply chain data
    • Implementing, managing and reporting a suite of category KPIs

What we are looking for:

    • Graduate or equivalent in commercial or technical discipline
    • Professional qualification through CIPS or equivalent
    • Full, clean driving licence
    • Experience of leading Procurement and embedding best practice
    • Experience of working with NEC 3 or 4 Term Service Contracts (option C preferred)
    • Experience of operating at senior level and supporting senior decision-making processes
    • Up to date knowledge of best practices in Procurement management
    • Good verbal and numerical reasoning skills
    • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
    • Good interpersonal, customer service and communication skills, with an ability to challenge, support, influence and engage senior managers and peers across the organisation and also externally with partners, stakeholders and suppliers
