We have a unique opportunity for a Security and Resilience Advisor to join our Health, Safety, Security & Assurance team working in Exeter. Joining us on a full-time, permanent basis you will receive a competitive salary of £28,000 to £32,500 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 
About the role:
 
As our Security and Resilience Advisor, you will be delivering security and resilience expertise in the operational business and facilities. Implementing and assuring business security and resilience systems, liaising closely with the business to ensure consistency of approach and application.
 
You will work closely with HSSA & Operations teams in the business; drive security and resilience performance improvement through behavioural change and active promotion of workforce engagement.
 
You will be providing practical advice, guidance and support on all aspects of security and resilience in addition to assisting with the development and implementation of effective systems.

What you’ll be doing:

    • Working alongside the Security and Resilience team to deliver the security and resilience strategy for the group
    • Support the management of SWW specific contracts, including; security services and CCTV
    • Alongside the Security & Resilience Manager be a point of contact for the Water UK Security & Emergency Planning Network (SEPN), working with them in the development of industry security & resilience programmes, standards and initiatives
    • Alongside the S&R Manager, be a point of contact for DEFRA & DWI in relation to compliance and advice in accordance with the Security & Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD)
    • Oversee the delivery of security work programmes by SWW contractors to ensure projects are delivered as per the scope and standards are maintained in line with regulatory requirements  
    • Lead a programme of security risk assessments, include reviews in line with SEMD compliance
    • Help to design, deliver and maintain security awareness training and tool box talks as required
    • Provide advice and support to management in the event of a security emergency
    • Support the business in investigations into security breaches or incidents, leading at times of significant breaches. Provide written and verbal reports as well as recommendations to mitigation future occurrences. Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure security improvement projects are delivered successfully and in compliance with industry security standards
    • Managing personnel resources dedicated to the Security & Resilience Team through contracts and temporary employment arrangements
    • Engage with the Local Resilience Forums (LRF), as detailed in the Civil Contingencies Act, building and maintaining strong working relationships.

What we are looking for:

    • A minimum of 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, including Maths and English
    • A Full UK driving licence
    • Experience in delivering presentations
    • Strong organisation and time management skills
    • Willing to learn and keen to develop in a new role
