Opportunity for a Water Supply Options Manager to lead the development of the future supply options pipeline across South West Water, Bristol Water, and Bournemouth Water regions. You will receive a competitive salary of circa £47,000 to £52,000 plus an excellent benefits package.

We are looking for an individual with proven leadership capabilities to lead the development of the future supply options pipeline and associated appraisals (asset and nature based solutions) – bringing multiple parts of the business together to define strategic options.  You will lead the supply options team who are responsible for creating the WRMP, Drought Management Plan and supporting the WINEP investigation delivery. They will be the guiding mind for our 50 year strategy and help to shape the investment cases for long term water resource options for the operating regions.  

What you'll be doing:

    • Lead a team responsible for identifying new supply options and enhancing existing ones to meet evolving water needs. 
    • Lead and manage the team responsible for supply option development, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration among team members. 
    • Conduct annual supply options reviews and oversee delivery of remedial actions 
    • You will plan and manage resources including all operational and capital costs/budgets associated with delivery of the day to day running of the team and delivery of new initiatives.  
    • Oversee research efforts to identify new supply options and assess the feasibility and effectiveness of existing ones. 
    • Develop strategies for mitigating risks associated with supply options, particularly those escalated by internal stakeholders. 
    • Lead efforts to engage with industry stakeholders and international partners to develop innovative supply options. 
    • Engagement with local stakeholders on future options, with a particular short-term focus on the Bournemouth region. 
    • Coordinate with relevant teams and departments to ensure that option outputs are integrated into strategic planning processes; providing relevant input materials for WRMP submission and Drought Management Plan supply options.  
    • Support the business planning process through cost benchmarking and input into enhancement business cases. 
    • Represent the company at industry level (Water UK, EA, UKWIR, regulator meetings)on water resilience and supply options.  

What we are looking for:

    • Scientific/ Environmental/ related Degree.
    • Experience working on diverse water projects, preferably with exposure to both traditional and nature-based solutions.
    • Track record of leadership and management.
    • Extensive experience in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industry partners and  government agencies.
    • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate team member.
    • Understanding of water supply systems, hydrology, water treatment processes, and relevant engineering principles. 
    • Skills in developing risk management strategies and contingency and mitigation plans.
    • A genuine passion for water resources management and a strong commitment to sustainability and resilience. 
£47,000 - £52,000 a year
