We currently have an opportunity for a Wastewater Transformation Project Manager to support the wastewater transformation programme in Operations. The opportunity is to join us on a 12-month basis (fixed term contract or secondment) with an annual salary of £45,000 - £50,000. 

About the role
South West Water are undergoing a major transformation programme. As part of this programme, wastewater services are leading on several initiatives that will improve ways of working and deliver efficiencies at our sites and in our operational processes.
 
You will play a key role in the delivery of this programme by taking the lead for the wastewater transformation workstream. You will ensure that initiative progress remains on track, ensure that initiative reporting is up-to-date, and support initiative owners to resolve issues. You will also report on progress every week to the workstream Sponsor for reporting to the Steering Committee.
 

What you’ll be doing:

    • Chairing weekly workstream meetings to resolve issues and escalations, drive delivery and ensure financial reporting is being completed.
    • Hold project managers from multiple departments to account to ensure delivery of their projects to time and to maximise benefits realisation.
    • Review and understand progress at programme level against financial targets and drive the mitigation of gaps to plan.
    • Report progress to the workstream Sponsor and the Transformation Office every week, highlighting key risks and escalations.
    • Support project managers to keep project data up to date, using the dedicated project management tool. 

What we are looking for:

    • Able to take good initiative, be proactive in problem solving and make decisions.
    • Excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written.
    • Able to work closely with a range of stakeholders, quickly building rapport and trust whilst also holding them to account.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive activities through to completion.
    • Able to analyse data and key information to a) draw out strategic opportunities to make improvements and b) monitor progress against financial targets.
    • Knowledge/experience of working in a fast paced, operationally focused environment – either directly or in a supporting role.
    • Experience/enthusiasm of working in a front-line site-based environment, working with a wide variety of team members and functions.
