We currently have a team of Investigation Manager’s position’s available for motivated individual’s to join our team’s in Waste Water Operations.

 The Wastewater Investigation Managers will be focused on supporting the Company in achieving its environmental targets. This will be through taking the lead in the investigation of pollution incidents and supporting the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process. These Managers will review and interpret data, communicate and engage with the site teams and other departments, and provide reports and recommendations in order to proactively reduce pollution's across Wastewater assets.
This is a new and exciting role and will develop into other areas of investigation across the wastewater function.
Each of these roles are integral to achievement of the company's environmental and pollution commitments, fostering collaboration with different business areas to effect thorough investigations and information dissemination. The successful candidate(s) will work closely with many areas of the business including the operational field teams, in order to ensure that thorough and detailed investigations are undertaken, and that high quality, accurate and detailed information is provided to stakeholders.

Locations are St Austell, Redruth,Plymouth,Exeter & Barnstaple

Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £32420 -£42800 per annum plus excellent benefits.
 

What you will be doing:

    • Undertaking a preliminary review of event information within 24 hours of each event, in order to establish key failure points and identify immediately necessary actions
    • Working closely with site managers to ensure immediate actions are delivered within a target of <3 days
    • Escalating of any risk of delay, and considering what other options can be deployed in order to prevent further failures (such as manning a site, remote monitoring 24/7, contractors)
    • Ensuring that a full investigation commences within 24 hours of an event, working closely with the site teams to ensure that all information is captured and investigation documentation is submitted.
    • Monitoring and tracking of pollution incidents and ensuring all event information and impact evidence is captured
    • Liaising with and supporting the Environment Advisors in order to ensure the capture of detailed and accurate information, to enable formal communication with our regulators and key stakeholders.
    • Liaising with the Group Legal team when required, and supporting the collection of key information required to formally respond to external information requests
    • Liaising with the Asset Management team
    • Working with colleagues to highlight risk and lessons learned across the region
    • Attending RCA meetings, ensuring both immediate and long-term actions are identified, recorded and delivered
    • Proactively identifying pollution reduction opportunities
    • Innovating and identifying practical solutions to help the business achieve its performance targets
    • Supporting the business in the event of environmental incidents 

What we are looking for:

    • Experience of working within the wastewater sector and its operation, planning, reporting and regulatory obligations.
    • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including English and Mathematics at grade C or above
    • Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office including Word and Excel
    • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently both verbally and in writing
    • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively innovate and work well under pressure
