Chief Database Architect

The Chief Database Architect will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and administration of databases along all aspects of the service life cycle. This position will allow you to develop, scale, improve and support databases services within the company.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and administer mission critical databases for both internal and external use
- Work closely with developers of applications that run against the database, ensuring best practices are followed
- Maintain database security including but not limited to: authentication, authorization and auditing
- Articulate technical requirements, issues and outcomes to various departments
- Proactively monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints
- Educate and guide database querying by non-engineer employees
Experience with the following technologies would be a plus:
- PostgreSQL 9.3+
- API design and implementation with Python; NodeJS
- Javascipt, AngularJS, Grunt, Bower
- Microservice architecture, Webhooks, Rest APIs, scheduled jobs
- NoSQL such as MongoDB, Redis
- Production environments using Ubuntu on AWS or Heroku
- Ability to articulate a clear direction and work collaboratively with the team
