The Copernicus component of the EU Space Programme is monitoring Earth’s environment, climate and security. EEA manages the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service, which offers products and information on land use/land cover, biophysical parameters, and the European environment. Novaspace, formerly SpaceTec Partners supports EEA on outreach, user uptake and communication of the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service with in-house consultants.
 
We are looking for individuals willing to grow their skills across communication consultant tasks such as: dissemination of project results, stakeholder management, communication strategies, user outreach and training, innovative communication ideas, story telling, programme and project management for the Copernicus Land Monitoring Service. This position will be based at EEA, working in Copenhagen, promoting sound scientific information on Europe’s environment as seen by Copernicus.

Desired skills & experience

    • Aptitude for the consulting skill-set: problem solving, quantitative and qualitative analytics, advanced writing and presentation
    • Background in science communication, space or STEM
    • Fast learner, flexible, organised, meticulous and detail-oriented
    • Ability to work independently and yet to effectively in a team
    • Strong academic background
    • Fully fluent in English - oral and writing
    • Citizen of an EFTA or EEA Member State
    • Flexibility for occasional international travel (mostly day-trips)
    • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite
    • Public sector consulting experience and knowledge of European institutions

Any one of the following areas would be a plus

    • Geoinformation or Earth Observation expertise
    • Sound understanding of the Copernicus programme
    • Engineering or scientific background / interest in space technology and applications
    • General understanding and background in any of EEAs core knowledge areas
    • Working knowledge of a second or more European language(s), e.g.: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Polish ...
