As our Sr. Superintendent, you will positively influence operations on complex commercial construction projects up to $75 million and more, demonstrating best practices and ensuring excellence in safety, quality, schedule and profitability. Successful team members in this role excel at resolving conflicts with professionalism, mentoring teams to achieve high performance and proactively engaging clients to anticipate and exceed their expectations.

What you'll do

    • Project Execution & Leadership: Lead all on-site construction activities across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with goals, safety, and quality standards while facilitating coordination, conflict resolution, and accountability within field teams.
    • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage logic-based schedules using tools like Primavera P6, train others in scheduling best practices, apply LEAN principles, and proactively identify and resolve constraints to maintain project milestones and optimize productivity.
    • Safety & Risk Management: Champion a culture of safety by collaborating with risk and safety managers to implement policies, conduct audits, and ensure full compliance with OSHA and company standards.
    • Preconstruction & Estimating Support: Provide strategic input during preconstruction, assist in buyout and self-perform strategy development, and support estimating teams in building accurate preliminary budgets.
    • Quality Control & Document Management: Serve as a resource for resolving QC issues, enforce disciplined project controls, and manage documentation with a strong understanding of construction documents and insurance requirements.
    • Client Relations & Business Development: Build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders, exceed expectations through proactive service, and contribute to business development using the company’s Proven Process.
    • Financial Performance & Project Controls: Drive financial performance through cost control and strategic decision-making, support dispute resolution, and ensure accurate reporting to identify risks and opportunities.
    • Project Closeout: Lead efficient closeout processes for large or multiple projects, ensuring punch list completion, documentation, and final payment within targeted timelines.

What you'll bring to the team

    • A degree in construction management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • Previous experience serving as the lead superintendent on commercial construction projects with a history of medium to large-scale commercial projects.
    • Proficiency with technical applications including scheduling software (P6), Microsoft Office, etc.

Essential Functions

    • Perform physical activities such as twisting, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, walking on uneven ground, working on scaffolds above ground, and in ditches below ground. Up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift are spent standing.
    • Work comfortably in confined spaces without fear and demonstrate the ability to read GHS labels on containers through color recognition.
    • Have depth perception to identify hazards such as excavations and to hear horns or sirens from moving equipment.
    • Exhibit good finger manipulation skills for precise tasks.
    • Climb on light and heavy equipment, carry, and use hand tools effectively.
    • Handle constant lifting of 10 lbs, frequent lifting of 25 lbs, and a maximum single-person lifting capacity of 50 lbs (assistance required for items over 50 lbs). Tasks may involve reaching at, above, or below shoulder height.

Work Environment

    • Construction site environment. You may be exposed to noise, dampness, heat, cold, dust, fumes (occasionally, but always well-ventilated), chemicals (will work with, but normally won’t work in a chemical environment) and confined spaces (on occasion). Temperatures range from 25º to 115ºF.
    • Wear puncture-resistant footwear, long pants, and shirts with four-inch sleeves.
    • Use all required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility vests, earplugs, fall protection gear, and respiratory equipment, as provided.
    • Maintain a professional, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
    • Work schedule will align with project demands and timelines.
Essential Job Functions:
You must be able to twist, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, climb stairs, walk on uneven ground, have depth of perception to avoid excavations and other hazards, hear well enough to recognize the sounds of horns and sirens on moving equipment.  There is a constant lifting of 10 lbs., frequent lifting of 25 lbs.  There is standing up to seven hours of an eight-hour shift.
