Spin was known for launching the first stationless mobility program in Seattle, and has since expanded to become the exclusive electric scooter partner in mid-sized cities like Coral Gables, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky, and one of a few permitted scooter operators in large cities like Denver, Detroit, and Washington, D.C. The team embeds in cities and neighborhoods to understand their specific transportation needs, and hires locally from the community.

About the Role

Spin is seeking an outstanding, multi-faceted public-policy professional to join our fast-growing, fast-paced team. Based in our San Francisco HQ, the position will work closely with the entire Business Team -- and cross-functionally throughout the company -- to help craft and advance Spin’s policy priorities at all levels of government, as well as help develop and implement specific policy-related initiatives and research. As a key member of a small but growing team, the person will be instrumental in helping the team scale and build Spin’s reputation as an industry thought-leader.


    • Work closely with the Business Team to develop and implement Spin’s public policy priorities.
    • Provide guidance and help develop strategies for Spin’s government partnerships team and external consultants to advance Spin’s interests in individual markets or regions.
    • Spearhead specific initiatives under their portfolio, such as initiatives on data, safety, labor, sustainability, and state-level policy.
    • Drafting written content, including redlines, formal comments, outreach collateral, formal proposals, and permit applications.
    • Help ensure that Spin’s operations and engineering teams are educated and in compliance with applicable regulations in individual markets. 
    • Help monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory trends across the country.
    • Engage with outside stakeholders to advance Spin’s policy and political priorities.


    • 5+ years experience of relevant professional experience, such as in the transportation, government, public policy, or politics.
    • Plusses: Background in state-level policy, equity policy, and/or data policy.
    • Strategic, creative-minded team-player and doer. 
    • Flawless writing skills.
    • Compelling communications skills, including public speaking.
    • Experience in project management.
    • Passionate about advancing accessible, sustainable modes of personal mobility.
    • Bachelor's degree or higher.
