Splice is looking for a Director of Product Marketing to join our team in New York to help us build the creative hub for the modern musician. You will report to the Director of Marketing and will be responsible for defining the product marketing function at Splice and building a team that: develops positioning for current and new products, drives the go-to-market strategy for new products, and partners with product to understand and optimize the funnel for our main product verticals. We’re a startup, and you should feel as comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting tactical as you do collaborating with business and product partners to define strategies and set (and hit!) KPIs.


    • Define the positioning of Splice’s current and future products. This includes articulating the competitive landscape and where each product fits in that landscape, clearly defining the target audience, crafting key messaging, and understanding barriers to adoption for each product
    • Work cross-functionally to ensure efforts -- from BD, to marketing activities to feature development--reflect that positioning and our understanding of our audience and their needs
    • Regularly reevaluate product positioning strategy based on changes in the competitive landscape and industry at large
    • Develop and execute insights-driven positioning and go-to-market strategy for future products
    • Partner closely with Product team on efforts to improve conversion funnel from sign up to subscription and engagement
    • Evangelize audience insights and the voice of the customer in strategic product decisions

What we're looking for:

    • 7+ years product marketing experience for digital products
    • Deep understanding of the marketing funnel and customer lifecycle and how to optimize performance at each stage
    • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to tackle complex and ambiguous strategic questions
    • Analytical thinker with experience in data-driven marketing. Results-driven with the ability to analyze data, both qualitative and quantitative, to inform strategic decisions
    • Experienced developing and applying consumer insights to inform and optimize the product experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally effectively with both analytical and creative teams
    • Understanding of music production process and modern music landscape a plus
    • Experience with subscription products a plus
