We’re looking for an Artist Relations Lead to support the key areas of scouting and artist development. The successful candidate will help to grow our artist roster and drive opportunities for artists both locally and overseas. You have a clear understanding of artistic and commercial potential of artists in today’s music landscape.

Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for sourcing, scouting and closing deals with artists Splice works with
    • Develop & maintain relationships with key artists, advocating for Splice and addressing their needs and concerns
    • Proactively initiate and cultivate new relationships with artists and their representation
    • Act as the liaison between the artist and the rest of the team at Splice
    • Onboard key artists, handle / prioritize support requests, and otherwise promote Splice
    • Share product and other key insights from artists perspective with team
    • Use the internal processes to manage & maintain a large number of artist relationships & keep the artist pipeline updated  
    • Align closely with marketing and artist team to ensure artist acquisition strategy is addressing key brand needs
    • Provide co-A&R direction on assigned projects
    • Provide detailed analysis of prospective artist careers and audience engagement
    • Forecast commercial viability based on data analysis
    • Work closely with the A&R director throughout the deal making process

Who you are:

    • 5+ years of related experience
    • Good ear for music, production, and a keen eye for unique artistic presentation in the market  
    • Availability by phone and email during non-office hours is a requirement
    • Strong foundation for the art of the pitch: awareness of the audience, understanding of the sequence and cadence of a sales pitch
    • Experience in sales and a track record of being successful selling
    • Proven track record in an A&R type of role
    • Strong network of contacts in the music industry (e.g. artists, managers, labels, etc.)
    • Ability to make offers and negotiate deals
    • Willingness to attend local, artist shows
    • Regular travel expected
