Spotify is looking for a seasoned communications professional to join our Global Communications team. We are looking for someone who has experience in the audio/entertainment industry and has a deep understanding of the book publishing and podcasting world. You’ll play a key role in driving awareness of business priorities through integrated communications. We want someone who is creative and understands the ever changing digital landscape and passionate about the role audio plays in our daily lives. 

What You'll Do

    • Develop and oversee execution of strategies related to Podcast and Audiobooks industry communications 
    • Collaborate with executives and key partners to develop and implement strategies for executive positioning of our Global Audiobooks and Podcast organizations
    • Work in partnership with communications and marketing partners to support the launch of new offerings in various markets globally
    • Possess exceptional writing and communication skills to craft compelling materials including media pitches, communication strategies, talking points and much more in alignment with brand voice and objectives 
    • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, social media editors and influencers in the consumer, tech, publishing and audio industries
    • Proactively identify opportunities to pitch proactive stories and secure media coverage that drives our narrative forward with consumer and industry audiences
    • Leverage your understanding of the publishing and podcasting world to drive strategic partnerships and collaborations within the industry
    • Demonstrate a genuine passion for the audio space and stay ahead of industry trends and innovations
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution
    • Manage PR agency support by providing the brief, direction and ongoing guidance 

Who You Are

    • 12+ years’ relevant communications experience in Publishing/Audiobooks/Podcasting or related field
    • Strong knowledge of the industry including key players and trends
    • Extensive experience with communications supporting a global company in a fast paced environment
    • Extensive local experience and familiarity with the U.S. market is required
    • Excellent media relations skills with a proven track record of securing media coverage
    • Strong relationships with influencers in the space
    • Proven ability to develop and execute integrated PR campaigns
    • Motivated self-starter with hands-on attitude
    • Excellent writing skills and presentation skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong project management and agency management skills
    • Ability to multitask and work in a hectic and extremely fast-moving industry and environment
    • Collaborative individual who enjoys partnering closely across teams and departments to create and distribute the most impactful communications possible
    • Strong writer, strategic thinker, and resourceful problem-solver
    • Ability to balance short- and long-term priorities

Where You'll Be

    • Hybrid role based in either our New York or London offices (average 2 to 3 days a week required)
The United States base range for this position is $132,870-$164,794, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
