Job title: Senior Backend Engineer
DUTIES: Architect, design, develop and deploy highly-available, high-performance Java services that scale to billions of users and service millions of requests per second. Architect, design and build large-scale batch streaming systems and pipelines with data processing frameworks such as Scio and Google Cloud Platform. Leverage unit testing, continuous deployment, and configuration management for software development. Collaborate with other engineers, product owners, domain experts and stakeholders to build end-to-end solutions to technical problems. Collaborate with team members in all aspects of the software development life cycle to drive and deliver on business priorities. Serve as a technical leader, providing technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers. Contribute to on-call monitoring of data pipelines and backend services and take an active role in incident management. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed in any location in the U.S.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the offered role or a related role. Must have two (2) years of experience with: designing, building and operating large-scale distributed systems; deploying and operating services on Linux/Unix using frameworks/toolings such as Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Maven, Jenkins or sbt; Agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and testing; Java programming language; and coordinating with multiple stakeholders and teams to resolve dependencies and to deliver high quality, robust and maintainable technical solutions to business problems.
SALARY: $182,962 to $277,180 / year
