The Director & Global Process Owner – Procure to Pay (P2P) reports to the Director of Accounting Operations and will be responsible for setting the strategic vision and operational execution of the global P2P process at Spotify. This role oversees global policy, compliance, and service delivery for vendor onboarding, purchase order compliance, invoice processing, payments, and employee expenses, with direct accountability for day-to-day operations in North America. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams across Finance, Engineering, Procurement, Tax, and Business Operations to ensure a globally standardized, efficient, and innovative Procure to Pay organization.

The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with experience managing both people and global processes, a passion for driving transformation, and deep knowledge of the end-to-end P2P value chain. You’ll champion automation and scalability while upholding best-in-class governance and controls.

What You'll Do

    • Lead the end-to-end Procure to Pay function, covering vendor master onboarding, PO compliance, invoice processing, payments, and employee expense reimbursement.
    • Act as the Global Process Owner for P2P, setting standards, policies, and best practices to enable scalability and consistency across all regions.
    • Develop and implement a global strategy to drive automation, reduce cycle times, and improve data accuracy and visibility.
    • Ensure adherence to global compliance requirements, including tax regulations (e.g., 1099/1042), internal controls, and SOX standards.
    • Manage the outsourced Procure-to-Pay (P2P) operations team, overseeing day-to-day service delivery, ensuring compliance with SLAs, and proactively identifying and implementing process improvements to drive operational efficiency and cost optimization.
    • Define and monitor service delivery KPIs and SLAs, with accountability for achieving performance targets.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and Finance partners to enforce PO policy compliance and promote disciplined spend governance.
    • Maintain robust internal controls for vendor master data, including audit support, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance.
    • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging technology and process redesign to enhance user experience and productivity.
    • Serve as the escalation point for operational or system-related P2P issues, ensuring timely resolution and cross-functional alignment.
    • Drive adoption of global tools and platforms, working with Product & Engineering to improve integrations and automation capabilities.

Who You Are

    • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in P2P leadership roles, preferably in a global capacity.
    • Proven experience managing and transforming end-to-end P2P operations across geographies.
    • Proven experience directly managing and evolving teams; a track record of developing, motivating & leading diverse professionals.
    • Strong understanding of vendor master data governance, invoice-to-pay processes, expense management, and PO compliance.
    • Experience with SOX controls, global tax reporting requirements, and ERP systems such as NetSuite.
    • Exceptional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to influence across departments.
    • Problem solver with strong analytical skills and a track record of delivering measurable process improvements.
    • Strong communicator with the ability to articulate complex processes in a simple and user-friendly way.
    • Experience in media, entertainment, or tech industries is a plus.

Where You'll Be

    • This role is based in New York, New York.
    • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
    • We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week.
The United States base range for this position is 184,335 - 263,335 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
