We are looking for a Senior Analyst in Revenue Accounting to support the Order-to-Cash team with revenue accounting operations. The role is based in New York City.

This isn’t your traditional accounting role. The Order-to-Cash team is a vital partner to Spotify’s business helping to develop and implement scalable processes that protects the accuracy of our financial statements. Adaptability to the constantly evolving business priorities with an understanding of how the pieces of the puzzle fit into the big picture is essential to this role.

You will have at least 5 years of combined revenue operations and GL experience at a global organization!

What you will do:

    • Complete accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financials in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements.
    • Complete month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuations analysis for advertising revenue.
    • Ensure achievement of operational metrics.
    • Support the implementation of best methodologies to scale our business and global revenue expansion.
    • Work closely with business partners on policies, processes and programs, for example, Legal, Sales, Sales Operations, FP&A, Payment, Tax, & Technical Accounting teams.
    • Aid in the development of operational processes that ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting, and work with Engineering teams to automate various elements to ensure long-term scalability for new revenue streams.
    • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to participating in projects, systems implementation and improvements or ad hoc analyses as assigned.

Who you are:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA or CA preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of related experience preferably combined public accounting firm and global public company (preferably companies in Technology, Advertising, Digital Media, or Telecommunications).
    • Strategic problem-solver who is able to transform goals into practical plans.
    • Strong Excel skills, and be comfortable with very large data volume.
    • Experience with major ERP systems (Netsuite, Oracle or SAP).
    • Experience with Salesforce and BigQuery preferred.
    • Able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
    • The ability to succeed in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.

    • You will work out of the New York office at least 2-3 days a week
