Job Title: Engineering Manager II
DUTIES: Lead and manage a team of data, web and backend engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with our Spotify values and build technical expertise amongst the team. Effectively facilitate and bridge collaboration with cross-discipline partners to solve exciting and high-reaching problems. Collaborate with partners in product, insights, and design to uncover the next growth opportunity within owned and new features. Own delivery of high-quality products throughout their life cycles, from idea conception to product release and maintenance. Ensure the team has an established tech strategy and prioritization of tech excellence. Cultivate agile methodologies and champion a culture of sustainable tech health. *Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed in any location in the U.S. **Domestic and international travel required 10% of the time.
SALARY: $255,944 - $274,443/ year
WORK SCHEDULE: 9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week. (Monday – Friday)
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in software engineering or a related role. Must have four (4) years of experience with: HTML and JavaScript; Java development; data structures and algorithms; Git; REST APIs; and SQL. Must have two (2) years of experience with: distributed micro services architecture; agile methodology; and CI/CD. Must have one (1) year of experience managing engineers. Must have one (1) year of experience as a tech lead.
