We are looking for a Senior Accountant in Revenue Accounting to support the Order-to-Cash team with Premium Subscription revenue accounting operations. The Order-to-Cash team is a vital partner to Spotify’s business helping to develop and implement scalable processes that protects the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements. Adaptability to the ever changing business priorities with an understanding of how various puzzle pieces fit into the big picture is crucial to this role.

These areas include invoicing and payment operations, IFRS revenue recognition, and advising and partnering with a variety of internal Engineering groups to help them build and maintain efficient operational processes at the scale of hundreds of millions of transactions per month.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of combined revenue operations and GL experience at a global organization. The position is office mix and based in NYC.
What You'll Do
- Execute accurate and timely reporting of the Company’s financials in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control requirements.
- Execute month-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuations analysis for Premium subscription revenue.
- Maintain and scale operational efficiency, inclusive of advising and problem solving across multiple related groups as business demands grow and evolve.
- Work closely with key business partners on policies, processes and programs, including Payments, Tax, FP&A, GL Reporting, Legal, and Technical Accounting.
- Work internally and with Engineering teams to automate various elements of operational processes to ensure long-term scalability for new and changing revenue streams.
- Assessing risk and testing functionality of accounting system releases as they relate to changes in reporting.
- Organize and review the work of offshore consultants of the accounting team and manage the efficiency and effectiveness of these contributions.
- Other responsibilities include participating in special projects, systems implementation and enhancements or ad hoc analyses as applicable.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with CPA or CA preferred.
- 5+ years related experience preferably combined public accounting firm and global public company (preferably companies in Technology, Payments, Digital Media, or Telecommunications).
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with the ability to transform goals into actionable plans.
- Strong Excel skills, and be comfortable with large data volumes.
- Experience with major ERP and Accounting systems (Netsuite, Blackline).
- Experience with SQL and BigQuery a plus.
- Able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize workload and meet strict deadlines.
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and changing environment.

- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come into the office 2-3 days per week.

The United States base range for this position is $83,903.00 - 119,861.00 plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance.
