Spotify is looking for a Policy Specialist on the Trust & Safety Market Responsibility team to help manage Trust & Safety’s market-specific regulatory obligations. In this role, you will act as a key connector across Legal, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams as the representative of Trust & Safety, ensuring the company anticipates and meets regulatory requirements with strategic foresight. You will work on the design, implementation, and oversight of regulatory readiness initiatives that promote creator expression, safeguard user safety, and uphold platform accountability.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the team’s role as the central point of contact for ensuring Trust & Safety’s compliance with global online safety laws and regulations.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing current and emerging online safety regulations relevant to Spotify’s Trust & Safety operations, helping the team stay ahead of legal and policy shifts.
- Work closely with legal teams to support the development and implementation of compliance strategies and guidance documents.
- Help conduct structured risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities, contributing to prioritization and mitigation planning.
- Assist in preparing and organizing actionable tasks for Trust & Safety verticals, Product and Engineering as part of compliance implementation.
- Contribute to the upkeep of a centralized repository for all compliance-related documentation and ensure content is accurate and accessible.
- Serve as a thought leader on regional online safety regulation, balancing legal compliance with public interest and platform integrity.
Who You Are
- BS/BA required.
- 4+ years experience in Trust & Safety, regulatory compliance, content moderation, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of global takedown request frameworks and evolving digital regulation landscapes.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize legal requirements into actionable policies and workflows.
- Experience in managing centralized documentation, audit response processes, and risk assessments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Familiarity with Australia OSA, EU - DSA, India IT Act, UK OSA, or AI-related regulatory developments is strongly preferred.
- Capable of operating independently in a fast-paced environment with high regulatory scrutiny.
